In a newly cultivated food crop farmland, the flora biodiversity hardly goes above 3 species meanwhile if consideration is made on a raphia palm bush (as an example of a wetland vegetation cover) it is found to contain over 32 species within 7 phyla which can be seen growing in co-existence (see table 10). The remarkable flora diversity within a raphia palm bush was seen as a reason why they sustain considerable biodiversity of animals, gastropods, molluscs and arthropods.
