1.8.2.1 The administration of questionnaires:
This was an important tool in this research. This was constituted of a number of questions that gave respondents the latitude of rapidly responding to a question either by choice or by writing down their opinion on an issue. There were two sets of questionnaires; one addressed randomly to the general public and another addressed to hunters and fishermen in order to understand the state of the biodiversity.
Questionnaires were administered in function of the population size of a village. Equally, within each village, they were distributed in function of the number of quarters and in function of its number of residents. For the first set of questionnaires, a sample size of 70 respondents was used. In order to obtain the number of questionnaires distributed in each village;
First, we obtained the fraction occupied by each village in the total population of Ndop Central Subdivision.
Percentage of each Population of village
Village(PV) in total = total pop of N.C.S.D
Population of N.C.S.D |
After obtaining this value, it was multiplied at each stage by the total number of questionnaires to be distributed. That is in the sample size of 70, in order to get the number of questionnaires to be administered for each village the formula was used as follows:
Number of questionnaires = PV x sample size
